About BSE Statements
A BSE Free, Certificate declares that the ingredients used in the products listed on the Certificate do not contain any prohibited materials and that the manufacturing process and packaging are equally free of contamination.
Countries request BSE Statements in order to prevent any imports to enter the country that could potentially contain ingredients associated with BSE/TSE.
It further certifies that the listed products are manufactured completely from synthetic or manufactured raw materials and does not contain any raw materials produced from or substances derived from animal origin. The manufacturing process does not use any ingredient of animal origin, nor does the above product come in contact with any animal products during storage and transportation. The listed products are free of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) and Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathy (TSE)
Once you submit a request, the document will be processed then sent to you to be signed. Once signed we will have the document notarized and Apostilled by the CA Secretary of State. A scanned copy will be emailed and the original will be mailed back to you.
Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy
The FDA explains BSE as the following:
Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) belongs to the unusual group of progressively degenerative neurological diseases known as transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSEs). TSE diseases are characterized by long incubation periods ranging from several months for transmissible mink encephalopathy, to several years for BSE. During the incubation period there is no visible indication of the disease. In the late 1980’s and early 1990s, BSE spread within the United Kingdom and then to other countries through the practice of using rendered bovine origin proteins as an ingredient in cattle feed. Since then, feed restrictions put in place by countries that may have imported infected cattle or contaminated feed ingredients have been highly effective in reducing the number of BSE cases worldwide.
